What is a good book for refactoring?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 06:27 PM PDT

Currently, I am trying to refactor someone's code but I find it tremendously difficult with the long line of codes, given my inexperienced.

I found a Martin Fowler book but the first edition which is based on Java language seems 'outdated'.

As I preferred to study the language I am familiar with, I hope someone can recommend some resources - be it good books or YouTube or free courses that I can learn the art of refactoring.

    Thanks.

A demonstration of how bad computers are at picking random numbers - each pixel is a random colour, with the random function seeded with the pixels x and y coordinates multiplied together before drawing each pixel. A pattern clearly emerges (other than the trivial diagonal line of symmetry)

[R] Introducing Holicity: A City-Scale Dataset for Learning Holistic 3D Structures

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 01:43 PM PDT

Researchers from UC Berkeley, Stanford and Bytedance recently introduced HoliCity, a city-scale dataset and all-in-one data platform for research into learning abstracted high-level holistic 3D structures derived from city CAD (computer-aided design) models. A rigorous annotation pipeline and associated tools enable continuous increases in the scale and richness of the dataset, supporting the study and evaluation of a wide spectrum of 3D vision methods, from low-level to high-level.

Here is a quick read: Introducing Holicity: A City-Scale Dataset for Learning Holistic 3D Structures

The paper HoliCity: A City-Scale Data Platform for Learning Holistic 3D Structures is on arXiv.
