Working remotely as an intern? Posted: 06 Jun 2018 12:11 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm doing an internship and have the option of working remotely during parts of the week. Working remotely is nice because my commute is pretty awful but I also want to have a presence at the office (I really want to work here full time) so I'm planning on going in most of the time but occasionally leaving early. Does anyone have some tips on remotely working whether it's full time or as an intern? [link] [comments] |
Are there any good resources for learning how computers work? Stuff like registers in cpu, ram etc.? Posted: 06 Jun 2018 12:21 PM PDT I want to learn how a computer works, because it seems really fascinating. How does it interpret binary, etc. [link] [comments] |

Disprove the claims in our linearly scalable SQL paper, get a 1 000 € bounty Posted: 06 Jun 2018 09:43 AM PDT We recently published our paper on the first properly ACID-capable, scalable SQL solution we know of. We have worked on it for years, but we are happy with it now. We'll give you a 1 000 € if you can disprove our paper's claims. That is, you can show that a theoretical element supporting our claim of being a scalable database with SQL-compatible consistency guarantees or the proposed combination of these elements have a fundamental flaw in it.
