Wrote a script that uploads fake data to phishing site

I received a phishing text message that there is some unusual activity on my bank account. I am forwarded to this site: [https://] commerzbank-phototan-89fz0 [.] web [.] app

You are supposed to login with your personal info and upload a photo of your PhotoTan.

To make the lives of the scammers a little harder, I wrote a script with Selenium that continuously uploads fake data with randomly generated info. This will first make it hard to distinguish between real victims and also fill their server space.

    https://i.redd.it/ydniq008mwz61.gif

Edit: I think their server's storage is full :')

Edit2: Some of you asked for the code:
    https://goonlinetools.com/snapshot/code/#v6orzwt220rkvjqe86efd7
I used Python and the firefox selenium driver which you need to install.

    I'm so sick of Elementor!

    Posted: 18 May 2021 01:46 PM PDT

Hey. I'm a freelancer and half of my work relates to elementor, i mostly don't have a say in this decision as some clients come with pre-built sites and only need support, some just want elementor and nothing else. This may be the same with other pagebuilders but let's stick with this one.

I am so tired of always hacking my way into building/fixing what the clients want. Features that are out of pagebuilders scope, fixing elementor bloat, you name it.

At this point i don't have the patience to do work anymore, sadly half of my income comes from elementor sites and i'm not in a position to just stop dealing with elementor sites alltogether.

What's worse are the clients who have agencies(literally) build around elementor and only elementor and i am the one who has to handle all the stupid things they cannot do with elementor.

I am just sick of it, man what a pain to deal with.

I throught wordpress would be a good path to get decent income(which was true) but the level of unprofessionalism is driving me crazy.

P.S. sorry for this lol, i think i just wanted to vent but would like to hear your opinions on this, also from people who have to do the same thing as above

How to work with the Flutter? Any good guides?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 02:58 AM PDT

    Hi, guys,

I started web design classes several months ago, and now I need to create a mobile app using the Flutter SDK. I don't know much about coding on platforms like this one, but the deadline is until 20th of May, so I need to hurry up.

I know that Flutter supports mobile platforms like Android and iOS and is rarely used for desktop. This means that the app must support a wide range of device sizes, pixel densities, and orientations. You have to consider that some prefer portrait orientation while others mostly use landscape. Sometimes it's a problem to make an app as flexible as required.

Honestly, I have some troubles with the coding on multi-platforms like Flutter. Making an app suitable for every phone resolution is really hard for me, but I'm trying to learn. Some people recommend using ResponsiveWidget because it can give the necessary support for adaptive design. But I'm facing a problem when I try to build a layout via WelcomePage using this code:

body: ResponsiveWidget( landscapeLargeScreen: WelcomePage( pageIndex: 0, scrollDirection: Axis.vertical, children: listOfPages, ), portraitLargeScreen: WelcomePage( pageIndex: 0, scrollDirection: Axis.horizontal, children: listOfPages, ), ),

I get a screen that has different layouts for portrait and landscape orientation. But when the device changes orientation, I just can't rebuild the layout. It's strange because I did everything that was written in the guides. I think it's going to be easier working with already built templates like on https://www.tldevtech.com/flutter-app-templates/ because I don't have much time to mess with this project. Still, I'm curious what can be the problem with the layouts in this case.

Maybe you know good courses on Flutter available online for free? I'd appreciate any tips. Thanks in advance.

I'm getting offers to buy my Chrome extension and not sure they're legit.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 05:44 AM PDT

I've been getting offers lately via my dev email to purchase my Chrome extension. Buyers are always Russian.

The offers themselves are ok I think, but they always need my bank account details, which I'm reluctant to give.

Idk much about it, I'm just an amateur who developed an extension mainly for personal use but people seem to like it. They like it so much that it was copied by someone on the Chrome store and marketed better and now they have hundreds of thousands of users.

Is there a reason why they wouldn't be able to use PayPal for a money transaction?

Is there a risk when you provide someone the details of your bank account for a deposit, generally speaking?

Have someone else encountered such offer for their Chrome extensions?

Thank you and I'll appreciate any feedback.

How much do you guys charge for a Retail eCommerce Website?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 02:28 PM PDT

    Hi guys! :D

    Glad to see you al!

I was browsing around Reddit and came across different people and companies, with very different price points.

There are both companies and people doing a terrible job for 1-1000K $.
There are both companies and people doing a wonderful job for 10-1000K $.

    My for you is:
How much do (would) you charge a client for a Retail eCommerce Website and what technologies would be used in your solution?

As previously mentioned I saw people doing a Wordpress solution for 100K and people doing a custom solution for 50K.

To add some details to the story, your client is a chain of 10 big supermarkets in your area for example (wherever you live), they have 5000-10000 products and they want to have an online shop that would have two options: In-Store pickup and Home Delivery.

Really interested in your answers, I honestly don't know what to expect from my previous (small) research on the topic! :D

Deploying a transformer-based text classification NLP model with FastAPI

    Posted: 18 May 2021 06:32 AM PDT

    Hello all,

I recently wrote an article about deploying spaCy NLP models with FastAPI for entity extraction. As many people told me it was helpful, I did a new article about deploying transformer-based NLP models with FastAPI for text classification (using Facebook's Bart Large MNLI model).

FastAPI is a great is great framework for API development in Python in my opinion. It helped me save a lot of troubles when developing the NLPCloud.io API.

    Here's the article:

    https://nlpcloud.io/nlp-machine-learning-classification-api-production-fastapi-transformers-nlpcloud.html

I'd love to have your feedback on this! Have you ever deployed transformer-based models to production? If so, which tools did you use?

    Thanks!

Keeping Track of URLs for users in Vue. Any suggestions?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 01:58 PM PDT

Hi there, first time making a serious website and I need to have a profile for each user on my site. These profiles would be at website.com/profile/{UID} where UID is some unique identifier I could get from firebase.

I know I wont actually have one static page for each user, but one reactive page that gets propagated with profile data given a UID. My question is this: What is the Vue way of getting the suffix of a url and passing that to a component to be rendered? Or is there a completely different way I should approach this.

    Thanks!

    Worst website in Norway?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 01:44 PM PDT

Can you believe this is the major auction portal in Norway year 2021? https://auksjonen.no/

It reminds a little bit year 2003.

Also worth mentioning: finn.no - they make billions of NOK every year, yet not providing most of basic functionalities. How the hell does this still exist? Is it monopoly? They are actually making regular changes to WORSE. Absolutely amazing. They are downgrading the automation, instead of publishing ads with strict parameters like "shipment cost" they made a pre-filled template to send to seller, asking "can you send the item?" instead making this a must fill parameter when publishing. But it is just a drop in the ocean of problems with this platform. Yet the company do give a F.

Just check their TRUSTPILOT profile xD

    https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.finn.no

This is a MAJOR service which EVERYONE use.

Asking for some encouragement from my lovely random redditors

    Posted: 18 May 2021 01:19 PM PDT

I've been on my frontend developer journey for about 3-4 months now. I can read someone's HTML and CSS code pretty well (there's somethings I might now know) and I can understand part of JS.

I'm a student enrolled in a CS degree, but I've been teaching myself mostly because idk if it's my ability to pay attention or the teachers are lacking the skills to teach correctly, I just don't understand the stuff they teach.

So I've been learning by using, Udemy, Frontend Masters and FreeCodeCamp. I find those 3 resources the most valuable to me right now.

The big issue I'm having is with HTML. So the love of god I'm not sure why I can't wrap my head around when and where to use a <div>. I know "div" is short for "Division" but when should I use it?

I know how to layout my HTML correctly:

    <body> <header> <nav> <main> <section> <section> .... <footer>

Do I put divs within those tags? I get stuck when it comes time to create my own from scratch, but I can read it.

Is there something wrong with me lol? Or does it take time to sit down and create something from scratch?

When is it worth using a CMS?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 09:29 AM PDT

I have a built a handful of websites over the last few years using WordPress. Now that I'm starting to redesign my own and thinking through previous projects I've started wondering if WordPress is worth the effort.

Yes it has a lot of nice plugins that save me time, but it also makes me too lazy to learn how to build that code. Yes it makes editing content really easy, especially for a client, but more than half of my clients never login to the back end. They pay me whenever they want changes because they are afraid of breaking things.

The only thing that I can think of that makes it "necessary" is e-commerce for which I use WooCommerce, but having spent an unnecessary amount of time trying to get WooCommerce to look the way I want for my site I'm wondering if there is an easier alternative to that too. (No I didn't get e-commerce side looking like I want yet)

Is there a simpler way to manage e-commerce for a static/non-WordPress based site? Are there any real benefits to using WordPress on a static information site? What do normally you use? PS. I've looked at Joomla and Drupal, those are not really options considering the clients I mentioned.

    Questions about freelance workers

    Posted: 18 May 2021 01:06 PM PDT

Hi, I am a junior web dev with knowledge of front end and server side. I'm interested in gaining knowledge in how how freelance web dev works for possible future work.

    1. If you get a new job to build a website where client wants you to host it and customers can sign up with details and login.

How and where do you host it? Where is the backend? Is it usually a Wordpress where you don't have to worry about the database or do freelancers connect to things like MongoDB and start a subscription?

    Thanks

    Publishing a website

    Posted: 18 May 2021 05:27 AM PDT

I have made a website using .Net 5.0 and MVC. I'm at a stage where I'm happy and I'd like to publish the site to get feedback and let people start using it. Can anyone recommend any tutorials / web host to get me on my way?

I work as a full stack developer, but I've only dealt with in-house hosting. Even then the manager does the DNS records and manages the domain procurement.

Edit: the application is server-less and doesn't require a database

    Thanks in Advance!

How much does a web agency quote for an internal dashboard using modern frameworks like React.js, Angular etc?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 04:08 AM PDT

I'm a freelancer from India, one of my clients has approached me to do a rather huge freelance project. The primary reason being that we've developed a strong work relationship and our hourly rate is much cheaper than the ones in developed countries while providing the high standard of coding.

I'm not sure how to price my budget for the proposal. I do want to price my proposal cheaper but at the same time competitive so that I don't undervalue my proposal too much. Therefore the question is the following:

How much does a web agency in Americas/Europe/Australia charge for a "fairly simple but elaborate" internal dashboard using cutting edge stacks like MERN, MEAN, Next.js etc.? My current proposal is close to around $18,000 for work that will probably span around 3 months.

I don't expect a precise answer, preferably any previous projects or experiences in your agency that you've dealt with will give me an idea of the budget is calculated and evaluated with competition! Thanks you're feedback would go a long way!

I want to buy a certain domain. But hen what?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 12:33 PM PDT

I am not developer, nor business savy.

Do I pay for the domian while I take CSS and HTML classes? or do I simply start writing, with what little knowledge I have? for now I am planning on gathering and translating some fluid knowledge from physical books. eventually, it is meant to be an in-person coaching business.

I could also pay for someone to design the website. but I donøt have anything clearly laid out. not the visino, mission, customoer segment, cash flow, tax. Hell, I haven't even registered the company name as a business to othe tax department.

Chrome extension that clears cookies for a specific tab

    Posted: 18 May 2021 12:16 PM PDT

Take facebook, for example. If I have 2 accounts I have to log in from one normal window and one from incognito window. I know this has to do something with deleting cookies, but am not sure how. Like, can you delete cookies for all but one tab on which you are logged in ?

I would appriciate if anyone knows how this could be done, or at least what chrome API does this.
