I'm tired and exhausted from web dev

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 07:32 AM PDT

I didn't even start working in web development but I'm so exhausted. There are infinite technologies for everything and it just feels like these no-code web and app builders slowly can do everything that 90% of companies ever need.

For example, you can build a fully functional Airbnb style platform using Bubble with great design, just by having a bit of logic. You can literally just drag 'Database' to your application and bamm! Connecting a payment method like Stripe is 1 click away.

I played with Wix and by following a tutorial, I built a better e-commerce site in a day that I did over 2 months in a 'full-stack' fashion . It's fully responsive, adding products is a breeze, no confusing admin panel building and stuff.

What I'm saying is, my efforts feel totally pointless, because I can't create anything that these no-code sites can't offer for (almost) free.

Do sites “refresh” their pages to make them look recently updated?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 09:40 AM PDT

I've noticed that any time I'm looking up a topic, even if it's a game that's 10+ years old, there seems to be a page that says it was posted like 2 weeks ago. Or comparing something like headsets, the "best of 2021" is always recently posted, no matter when in the year I've looked. Are people really updating these sites or just pulling down pages and reposting them so it looks more recent?

Not sure how to get data using nodes https library

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 09:09 AM PDT

Recently I took an assessment for a job I applied for, and 2 of the questions asked me to make an HTTP request to get IMDB movie data. No big deal, I thought. Well, it only allowed me to use https library from nodeJS which I've never used before (why would you? it's low level and better libraries exist).

Anyway, for whatever reason I just could NOT manage to save the data or process the request asynchronously like I usually would. If you've ever used the https library, you have to write chunks of response data to a data variable. No matter what I did, I couldn't manage to return the data and I don't understand why. I could console.log it out no problem, but every time I tried to write it to a variable outside of the https.get callback, I would get undefined.

Please help me understand what I was supposed to do to return data from https.get()

    Making changing graphs in flask

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 08:59 AM PDT

I want to make a graph that changes if the user changes a variable. Do you think using Flask and Chart.JS could accomplish this? I just want to make sure they are capable before I go down a rabbit hole.

Does the user see the curl request I made in php?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 08:55 AM PDT

I want to request a specific endpoint from php when the user clicks a button. The URL contains some important and hidden data. My question can be easier summarized as an example: if user A presses the button and I sent a post request (maybe using curl) from php, does the user end up seeing my request?

any mobile browser that supports dev tools?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 12:56 AM PDT

for my personal use, I need a browser with dev tools (that includes every features which the tools when you press F12 on pc chrome has) but I can't really find any that meets my desires.

I know the remote debugging feature with connecting your mobile device to the pc, but it's not what i'm trying to find.

I need a browser that solely works on mobile device itself.

Does anyone happen to know what I'm trying to find?

I thought there should be a customed chromium which has this feature. But with low interest, it seems that there isn't.

ps. I found eruda browser but it has a major issue where the dev tools are shut down everytime I refresh.

I have been looking through backend frameworks and I would like to ask about what would be the best backend framework to learn and create APIs with, based on pay, number of jobs available in the market, learning curve etc.

Can I redirect an A Record to another server?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 09:18 AM PDT

If an A Record is currently pointing to 10.10.10.10 is it possible on the 10.10.10.10 server to set another A Record that will redirect to another server, say 10.10.10.05? Using cPanel.
