Explain Networking b/w devices like I'm five Posted: 31 May 2020 03:57 PM PDT For a noob, it can be hard sometimes to visualize certain aspects of computer workings no matter how much research they do. There are always holes and gaps. Note: Mobile and web app are a part of the same LAN. Now whats extremely boggling is how is data being sent to the mobile application. Is it not being sent at all? Is it just being posted to the realtime database (i.e. firebase) and the mobile app simply syncs to the database constantly? Or is it done through the use of sockets which includes clients and servers? Who is the server in this case? Aren't they both just applications. Are there any other ways to maintain this real-time connection between these two applications other than using a database or sockets? I just want to explore all the available possibilities. Posted: 31 May 2020 01:54 PM PDT Besides having a personal portfolio of projects, what online courses or certification programs are available that aren't apart of being enrolled in a college/university, but are recognized in the field enough where it at least gets a second glance on a resume? I know this is broad in terms of focus within the field but I am open to all areas as well as the level of difficulty or experience it may require. Apologies if this has been asked but Googling brought up a lot of fluff and as someone who's outside looking in, its difficult to see whats respected at a professional level. Edit: I went to college for accounting/chemistry. I would like a career that someone with a computer science degree would be eligible for. Until I am enrolled online and have such a degree, I would like to be working on the right things but there are a lot of promoted programs out there. [link] [comments] |

You can propose any idea to solve the issue and show how it will be applied in a hypothetical situation. For example, 5 users have connections to a shared 10 Mbps link. Suppose that the connections last for a specific duration of time. Now, assume that user 1 requests 2 Mbps for his connection, user 2 requests 1 Mbps for his connection, user 3 requests 3 Mbps for his connection, user 4 requests 4 Mbps for her connection, and user 5 requests 10 Mbps for her connection. If you know that the total bandwidth requested by all users exceeds the available 10 Mbps bandwidth. [link] [comments] |
