OpenAI Puts CV Models Under Their Microscope Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:51 AM PDT OpenAI yesterday unveiled its Open AI Microscope, which provides visualizations of every significant layer and neuron in eight of today's most popular computer vision (CV) models. Interactions between neurons indicate the abilities of neural networks, and with machine learning trending toward increasingly complicated neural networks it is important for researchers to be able to quickly and easily conduct a closer inspection of these thousands of interactions. This is where AI Microscope comes in. Just as biologists gain insights into organisms by putting model specimens under their microscopes, AI Microscope was designed to help researchers analyze the features that form inside leading CV models. Posted: 17 Apr 2020 02:06 AM PDT Article Some Relativistic and Gravitational Properties of the Wolfram Model (by Jonathan Gorard - 2020) has interesting definition of abstract rewriting systems that work on graphs. Do you see a way to use them to represent code-data dual algorithms that modify each other and form natural selection process? That could be a nice base for open-ended natural selection a-life model. Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:57 PM PDT I got into MIS(management information systems) Bachelors, but recently I discovered that my interest to business is going away and I am more fascinated more by tech jobs, my question is, with an MIS degree, would it be easier to become a software engineer or a data scientist? What would it take? I am also thinking to minor in computer science at my university, thank you! [link] [comments] |
Can developers get hired with an associates? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 06:23 PM PDT Working on an associates on Computer and Information services. Can developers get hired if they have an associates and are advanced? How about internships? [link] [comments] |
What is the difference between horizontal scaling and distributed systems? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:19 AM PDT I am studying system design right now. I tried to research this, but the only thing I could find was a poorly explained answer on Quora. 1) What is the difference between horizontal scaling and distributed systems? 2) Does horizontal scaling imply a distributed system and why? 3) can vertical scaling also be considered a distributed system and why?
