Detecting Insufficient Material Stalemates in Chess Variants

I thought this tough problem was really interesting so I made a video. Here it is! Let me know what you think. Or of course, any compsci questions. I studied compsci and there's a ton of it in ChessCraft.

In classic chess, it's a draw for games like "king and knight versus king" or "king bishop versus king". Simple enough. However... in my game the player can change how pieces move and the shape of the board. Despite this, players still expect games like "sorta-king versus sorta-king sorta-bishop" or "sorta classic board"" to be declared a draw. Or not.

What are some potentially very influential uses of VR?

    Posted: 06 May 2019 04:40 PM PDT

Does VR have many truly useful and practical applications? The only one I've encountered so far is training medical students, but it seems like VR in general still in too early a stage (not accurate enough, not fast enough, etc.) for that it to be applied to that just yet.

I'm sure it's just that I'm not creative enough and can't think of other ways in which VR could be applied: assuming the technology does get better going into the future, what other non-trivial uses might it have?

If you have any ideas at all, I'd love to hear them!

Question; when using a Cisco meraki router with a raspberry pi for a LAN adapter, Why do I get better results with an aircard attached and on public wifi, as opposed to just with the public wifi?

    Posted: 06 May 2019 07:05 AM PDT

For instance, I set up a mobile testing station for a client and they were utilizing raspberry pi to connect to local wifi and hardwire the raspberry pi device into the internet port of the Cisco meraki router. I noticed that when I would plug in with just the raspberry pi, it wouldnt configure properly or it would drop significantly in strength and speed. However if i plugged an air card with cellular connection into it, still ensuring my connection to hardwired raspberry pi was there, it would configure properly and the speed would remain consistent for testing

    1. Is this common?

    2. Are there any articles or links I can grab to investigate.

    3. Has anyone encountered this as well or at all?
