[Question] Self-replication mechanism in computer viruses Posted: 11 Oct 2018 07:44 PM PDT Lately I've been wondering how computer viruses work, mainly how does the infection process and self-replication happen? All the searching I've done on Google doesn't answer my question and instead leads to people saying "Don't ever write a virus". However, I'm curious. How does replication and infection work? This is purely from an educational perspective. I do not intend to ever write malware. [link] [comments] |
Final year project: Solo, research or group? Posted: 11 Oct 2018 11:06 AM PDT Hey all. At the moment I am in a group but I am having 2nd thoughts about working in a group. I understand its part of the experience and I will (probably) be working in a team when I graduate however I'm really worried about having to rely on them to get a good grade and it is REALLY important to me that I get the best grade possible. The other 2 options are 1) I do a solo project (needs approval) or 2) I do a research project (needs even more approval). I don't really have an idea of what to do for either of the above projects but I think i'd feel a lot better if i was solo. Has anyone done a solo project for university? Did you like it or would you prefer to be in a group? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
When do you find the time to read CS news? Posted: 11 Oct 2018 06:53 AM PDT So I've been struggling with this problem for a couple of days now since taking on a very time consuming internship. I've made it a point that for the first hour of work that I spend that hour peeking around my news sources and reading interesting articles in the CS field. So far I've always found myself wishing I had more than just one hour and almost rushing through articles to get back into searching. I don't read articles again until the next day. I'm pretty new to this but I was wondering how others have handled consuming tech news while working? I feel it's an important part of the career but I just really haven't gotten a handle on it and any advice would be much appreciated. [link] [comments] |
