[N] Apple Reveals Design of Its On-Device ML System for Federated Evaluation and Tuning Posted: 19 Feb 2021 09:17 AM PST Apple has laid out the design characteristics of a new generic system that enables federated evaluation and tuning (FE&T) systems on end-user devices. Here is a quick read: Apple Reveals Design of Its On-Device ML System for Federated Evaluation and Tuning The paper Federated Evaluation and Tuning for On-Device Personalization: System Design & Applications is on arXiv. Operating system concepts book vs MIT OS courses? Posted: 20 Feb 2021 01:21 AM PST Not sure which to choose for learning more about this subject and was wanting to hear other peoples opinions who have done either or both? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Are concurrency models really needed, with popularity of RPC and REST services etc? Posted: 19 Feb 2021 06:11 PM PST I saw gRPC and REST web services are very popular in distributed systems. I have yet heard uses of concurrency models such as pi calculus, actor model, join calculus, and ambient calculus in distributed algorithms and systems. Are they really needed or do they have future in real world? [link] [comments] |
