Tell us all about your project and make us interested! The hashtag for Twitter is of course #screenshotsaturday. Posted: 01 Jan 2021 07:07 PM PST I want to learn how to build a simulation engine, where the game flows in ticks. Something similar to Stellaris and Anno, I guess. With the support of multiplayer where everything must be synchronized. Is there any good readings on that? Or do I have to come up with my own way? [link] [comments]
Anyone advertise on 4chan before? Posted: 01 Jan 2021 06:58 PM PST So I have long been reluctant to pay for banner ads for my game, because of how woefully ineffective they seem, especially on Reddit. But I have considered advertising on 4channel (the SFW boards of 4chan), and it seems pretty affordable. Has anyone here had any experience with that? When it estimates that I will have "800,000 impressions" from my campaign, how would that translate compared to, say, Google Ads or Reddit or YouTube? Do you think banner ads are a lost cause for indies? Banner ads seem to be popular with trash f2p games, and I know a lot of devs focus mostly on streamers and video content. I'd appreciate any feedback on this topic. Thanks! [link] [comments]
