| Posted: 20 Dec 2020 08:02 AM PST My 9yo son has expressed interest in codes and ciphers. Are there any good books at that level to introduce Cryptography, both history and theory/application? He currently does a simple substitution cipher. I introduced him this morning to the concept of wrapping a paper strip on a broomstick and he was really excited. Cryptography was never my area of study so my own knowledge is pretty introductory level. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 20 Dec 2020 11:41 AM PST Hi everyone! I need to build a 3D model of ball movements. Basically you shoot a ball into a room (from different directions) and see it bounce around according to the objects in the room and friction from the air. The ball needs to be in continuous movement until it stops. The goal is to run this many times in different conditions to collect stats. Graphics are not important but the model needs to be fast. I would love to develop an easy engine in Python, does anyone have suggestions on how I can get started? What to learn first? I am not a CS major but I am familiar with Python and R.
