- This is a small project I have been working on for anti-cheating in Unity Engine. It allows you to protect your game from cheating tools. Key Features: Hides variables in memory, Encrypts and extends PlayerPrefs, and Detects speed hacks.

How good is godot when it comes to 3d? Posted: 29 Dec 2020 09:45 AM PST I've been doubtful about learning it after seeing how janky it's cloth simulations are. I'm pretty impressed by its 2d capabilities but I'm purely interested in making 3d stuff. Should I still go forth and learn it or just go for unity? [link] [comments]
How can I benefit from substance painter ? Posted: 29 Dec 2020 08:44 AM PST I usually do my texturing on blender. I download or buy textures from the internet, and edit the uv's in blender to adapt to my model. Most of my models are buildings so not very complex. Would there be any benefits of using substance painter, if I already have my texture and I just need to adjust the uvs ? [link] [comments]

Why is there no interest in free music for games? Posted: 29 Dec 2020 08:16 AM PST I have partnered up with a talented music producer to create music for games. We have produced a main theme suitable for action games and shared on social media, including facebook groups for independent game developers. We are ready to give it away for free with an exclusive license. We even offered to create up to 10 custom made sound effects. Still, we only got 1 like in total and no one actually wants to use the music. Now my question for you developers is, why is there no interest? I know that you can get free music, but most likely not with an exclusive license! Is there something I don't understand about this market? Is the FB post unclear or did I ask for too much? Link to the original post on our FB page. I'm looking to reading your opinions! [link] [comments]

Which of these 2 Udemy courses (Unreal Engine) should I buy? Posted: 28 Dec 2020 08:07 PM PST Hello, Hope everyone is having a good holiday season. I'm a recent bootcamp grad, where I learned to make full stack applications primarily using Javascript. I normally work with React, TypeScript, Express, MySQL/PostgreSQL; and I've had a few small applications deployed for work (nothing fancy, just simple stuff). I'm taking a course on the side, on algorithms and data structures in hopes to improve my problem solving skills. But I'm also interested in learning to create games with the Unreal Engine. Three things happened to me recently that sparked my interest in game dev. 1) Documentary about Tree of Life creator having no programming experience, but still managed to create the game with Unity. 2) A video about some guy creating 3D clone of Among Us in two weeks using Unreal Engine. 3) Playing through Horizon Zero Dawn Also, I grew up wanting to be a game dev; and took a detour in life due to personal circumstances. But now I want to give it a shot so I don't look back wondering about what if.. Now that my intro is out of the way, and thanks for making it this far through the wall of text; I came across these 2 courses on Udemy. https://www.udemy.com/course/learn-cpp-for-ue4-unit-1/ https://www.udemy.com/course/unrealcourse/ The first seems to really go to the basics; but seems to cover computer programming concepts I've never learned before (e.g. memory management). The second appears to cover basics briefly, but jumps straight into making games. I won't buy them right away. I will wait for a sale again, the last which I missed a few days ago. Should I get one over the other, or both? If you think I should take a step back and consider other options, please do share! I know I will have to brush up and learn some math as well. I'm considering KhanAcademy for those if you guys think that's a good place to start. Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
