Is there a programming language with only function calls?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 09:23 PM PDT

Function calls replacing programming structures like if/else, while, for loops, variable assignment etc.

    For example for(0, 100, if(a, thenb))

"In the early days, database applications were directly built on the top of file systems", what does this mean?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 07:10 AM PDT

I was reading about DBMS. And the above line came.

The author was discussing the drawbacks of this system.

But, I don't understand what "top of file system" means?

Is there any such programs to understand this concept?

    How is such concept implemented?

Breaking Down Test-Driven Development (TDD) Free Lunch and Learn Webinar today

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 09:48 PM PDT

Def Method is hosting a free lunch and learn webinar on TDD today, August 21st at 12pm EST! Test Driven Development (TDD), is a software development process that builds up a suite of automated tests alongside your software. Test driving software leads to cleaner code, better design, and fewer bugs. But when your stakeholders push for faster optimization, why is it so important to continue forward with TDD? In our opinion, testing is paramount for the success of a product.

In this panel discussion featuring Def Method Engineers, panelists will discuss topics including: the proper amount of test coverage, how to know if your unit tests are producing value, the importance of TDD when building a proof of concept, working on legacy software with TDD, and useful practices while test-driving.

Featuring panelists: Senior Software Engineers Keith Hickman-Perfetti, Jeff Jia, Ben Gross, Mark Simpson. Moderated by: Yisselda Rhoc
