Posted: 03 Jul 2020 09:40 AM PDT also posted in r/csmajors but thought I could get good opinions here too - I'm realizing that the CS community at my college is lacking despite being a popular major - all of the CS clubs are very career oriented and there seems to be little to no space just for fun community building. The atmosphere of our department also feels a lot more competitive/less amicable than other majors. is this just my school or is this just the nature of CS academia? how have you effectively built community in your CS environments? BSc in CS from UOL or BSc in SE from UOP? Posted: 03 Jul 2020 04:44 AM PDT Hi guys, I have a question regarding these 2 majors from different universities and need some advice on which to move forward. I got an offer from the both University of London and the University of Portsmouth respectively, however, I am unsure of which major and uni to proceed. Personally, I am really passionate about AI and ML but the cons would be the duration as the shortest would be 3 years. Also, it can only be completed via Distance Learning. For BSc in Software Engineering, it can be completed within 18 months from the local teaching centre of where I based but I am not sure whether this will allow me to pursue my career in AI/ML field as well as a postgraduate in the related field too.
