Instant teleportation help UNITY 2D Posted: 28 Mar 2020 11:55 AM PDT Hey guys :) I am trying to make a character teleport from one map/area to an adjacent map/area of the same dimensions, with a press of a designated key. The character would be teleportated in the exact same location in the second map/area as the location they pressed the key in the first map/area. Does anyone have any idea on how i can go about/tackle this? Thank you (: [link] [comments]

What would be a good game engine for a beginner to do an animal raising game? Posted: 28 Mar 2020 10:51 AM PDT Hello there, So, I'm a complete beginner to coding and game development, but I want to do a simple text-based animal raising simulator. I'd like to do something where you have various stats that you can manage, like health, water, thirst, trust in player, etc, with buttons you can press to adjust them, e.g. feed the dog a treat, it reduces their hunger meter, and they reply with a "Thank you, owner!". What programs and where should I go to get started with this? [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Mar 2020 10:32 AM PDT Hey! I am creating a 2d platformer and I want to implement a sbop were you can buy upgrades (health increase for example) that will then persist during the game. So I wanted to know, does anyone know any good tutorial for this kind of stuff? Thank you Ps: I am making the game in Unity, so it will help if the tutorial is made on this engine. Need help choosing software to create a dress up game Posted: 28 Mar 2020 10:23 AM PDT Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing fine. I apologize in advance since English isn't my native language so bear with me, please. I want to create a dress-up game, but I'm an artist only. But I'm willing to learn some code in order to make my project, I already worked a bit with Processing in college but very simple stuff and I can't remember much too. I need software advice to make this project. Sure, you can suggest Processing if you think it would work. But here's the thing: I want this to look very similar to Dress to Impress for Neopets (you can search the website, it's pretty old). I have no idea about languages and that also is making my decision on the software to use harder. The main topics that are troubling me (Based on that website) are: - I'm doing this mainly for PC, but if there's an option to make an Android app too, I wouldn't mind. But I need it to be able to export as a .exe file at least, or .apk. - Creating a menu with windows like skin colour, shirts, pants, dresses etc that each one will open a series of smaller icons of the usable item. It also has to show the name of the item below. - Creating a search engine based on the name of the item. - Creating a small box with a description of the item when the mouse is just passing above the item - If possible, the search engine could also search not only the item name but also description - Some items need to overlap others - Also wanted to add to the search box some text code option to make it easier to search gold, cash or event items (like in Neopets, you have Neopoints [the normal currency] and Neocash [paid currency]. Dress to Impress has this option by putting stuff like "cool dress is:nc" or "cool dress is:np" for nc only and np only items respectively). - A good place to stash the images of the items online if needed. I really don't know if I can share the .exe completed file with my images on my PC only or have to store them online. As I said, I'm pretty much a noob lol. I'll deal with all the visual part so I'm not worried about that, just really need a software that can do all these requisites I'm asking, even if I'll need a lot of coding. I'd also like to thank everyone that wants to help me out with this project. It's more of an "I'm bored and want to learn stuff" quarantine project than anything but still pretty cool do work! Remember to stay at home as much as possible! Stay save all of you ♥♥ [link] [comments]
