- CompSci Weekend SuperThread (January 24, 2020)
- What field of CS is concerned with algorithms that parallelize heavy computational tasks?
- Journal for interdisciplinary work with Comp. Sci. and Communications studies?
- Coder Cup problem #4: Find the sum of all the positive integers which cannot be written as the sum of two abundant numbers.
- If we wanted accurate terminology for computer science and mathematics the former would be applied mathematics and the latter theoretical.
- What is the fastest sorting algorithm for a 250000 long, non-repeating doubles list?
- Why bluescreen?

What field of CS is concerned with algorithms that parallelize heavy computational tasks? Posted: 23 Jan 2020 10:54 PM PST I am interested in general algorithms or principals applied in parallelizing computational tasks. I am aware of the fields in parallel computing, distributed systems, and algorithms. But I am unsure which would be more suitable for my interests. [link] [comments] |
Journal for interdisciplinary work with Comp. Sci. and Communications studies? Posted: 24 Jan 2020 02:11 AM PST Hi all, I am a PhD student in CS who does a lot of interdisciplinary research. My most recent work uses CS for Communication studies. I was hoping to publish in a journal but haven't been able to find one. I saw that the Journal of Computer Sciences and Communication exists, but it's focused on communication networks of computers. With that being said, does anyone know of any? Thanks! EDIT: The work is not social media related, rather it deals with the transcripts of speeches [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Jan 2020 06:32 PM PST What do you guys think? Is everyone on the same page here? Pure mathematics doesn't really make any sense anymore. [link] [comments] |
What is the fastest sorting algorithm for a 250000 long, non-repeating doubles list? Posted: 23 Jan 2020 03:12 PM PST Default Java algorithm takes ~5.5 seconds to complete the sort. My goal is to complete the sort under 4 seconds. [link] [comments] |
