Is anyone interested in weekly coding interview problems with detailed solutions newsletter? Posted: 22 Aug 2019 08:24 AM PDT Hi friends, I am running a newsletter that sends out 3-6 coding interview problems with detailed solutions in Go. My goal is to build a database of top 100, most frequently appeared problems that I think are the most valuable and effective to spend time on. For each one, I am including my thoughts of process on how to approach and solve it, adding well-documented solutions with test cases, time and space complexity analysis. Let me know if you're interested in the idea. Here is the link to: - the newsletter itself: https://www.getrevue.co/profile/hoanhan101 Best, Hoanh [link] [comments] |

How often does a smartphone (or any device using 802.11ac really) search for a wireless network? Posted: 23 Aug 2019 12:33 AM PDT If a device isn't connected to a wireless network how often will it make broadcast requests? I'm curious because when I'm not at home and my phones wifi is still on does that mean it's using clock cycles (probably not very many) to issue broadcast requests to find networks? I'm just confused about the whole thing and can't seem to find anything about this online. [link] [comments] |

Need advice for personal preparation program for applying for Masters in Computer Science Posted: 22 Aug 2019 12:11 PM PDT I have studied my bachelor's degree in Computer Science at a local non-top, non-worldwide-popular university (non-US & non-EU). I am currently working as a software engineer at a local company. I want to apply for Computer Science Masters degree top universities abroad. I feel that my academic Computer Science knowledge is currently not competent for a Masters degree abroad and I want to improve it before applying (applying is not urgent at this time). What kind of preparation program would you recommend me to create for myself and work on? Any recommended open source curriculums suitable for my objective? (OSSU, and etc..) [link] [comments] |
How does one improve their compsci logic and reasoning skills Posted: 22 Aug 2019 10:29 AM PDT We know compsci has a lot of logic and reasoning involved. Sometimes its hard to reason out sequence flows e.g. how recursion works or string matching or even nested boolean statements e.g. multiple if-else statements. Are there any techniques, books or excercises you use to get your logic and reasoning abilities to the point where mental reasoning of code becomes easier? [link] [comments] |
Best Framework for Beginner and Courses to learn on Udemy? Posted: 22 Aug 2019 01:56 PM PDT Hi Everyone, I'm currently enrolled at the University of Toronto for Computer Science for the upcoming Fall of 2019. Over the summer I've been taking this Full Stack Course: https://www.udemy.com/the-full-stack-web-development/ I like this course but I find it's a bit too broad as it doesn't focus on a particular framework and doesn't really go into detail about explaining the lines of code being written. There's a lot of other courses on Udemy that I think I would like but I don't want to waste my money, so my question is: What is a good beginner web framework (both front and back end) that I could learn and do you have any courses on Udemy you could recommend? I already wrote a basic web app but I want to move onto building more projects including my own personal site. But I'm confused about which framework I should use, I want the framework I learn to use to be versatile for different projects, as well as pragmatic enough to be something employers, want when I enter the workforce next year during my first co-op term. Any help is appreciated! Please feel free to PM me! [link] [comments] |
