Beginner Looking for a Starting Point Posted: 01 Dec 2018 10:42 AM PST So, I completed the C# tutorial on MVA. I am in school for software development, and I really want to build awesome games. Should I follow along with a tutorial, or just deep dive into an engine or mono, and learn as I go. I want to put an emphasis, I enjoy programming, or I at least enjoy learning now stop about programming. If anyone has any advice for where to start in game dev with a focus on programming - that would be awesome. I appreciate any help or advice! Thanks for your time. [link] [comments] |

Royalty free Zelda BotW inspired piano Posted: 01 Dec 2018 06:22 AM PST In an attempt to teach myself how to write piano pieces and work with others I have decided to be open to requests of short BotW inspired piano pieces for free. Every piece will be shared publically under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. This way everyone can use what I make freely so your requests will not be exclusive to you. I cannot say for how long I will offer my free service. And I cannot promise that I'll get to everyone. This is more of an experiment I'm doing. I made a small 20 piece pack and a video with a few examples. My pack is under the same license as any future requests. Simply give me credit and include a link to my video (or this post) and we're all good. https://youtu.be/LqUtqRYYDMk (link to the pack is in the description) [link] [comments] |

Screenshot Saturday #409 - Crisp Images Posted: 30 Nov 2018 08:25 PM PST Share your progress since last time in a form of screenshots, animations and videos. Tell us all about your project and make us interested! The hashtag for Twitter is of course #screenshotsaturday. Note: Using url shorteners is discouraged as it may get you caught by Reddit's spam filter. Bonus question: Has a game ever made you feel extremely emotional? [link] [comments] |

I wanna start but I don’t even know where to even begin? Posted: 01 Dec 2018 10:05 AM PST I know there's a lot of options out there but that's kind of also a problem, what program should I learn, where's the best place to find it that keeps updated, should I even focus on learning code first. I tried to watch a ton of videos but they all just assume that I already have some knowledge under my belt. Any advice please? [link] [comments] |
Is there anyway i can get my game tested online? Posted: 01 Dec 2018 06:15 AM PST Ok so i assume that you guys already know that gathering people to play and test your game is a little tedious job,... So i was wondering that if my video game is small not like AAA, then instead of gathering people i can simply get my game tested online by testers. Is there anyway so that i can get my game tested online? [link] [comments] |
