Posted: 01 Sep 2018 12:40 AM PDT Hi all, I've just read a paper from Google mentioning the hard part of implementing Paxos in production named "Paxos made live: an engineering perspective" pdf here. In this paper, they refer two times to "shadow" data structures which allows pause-less snapshots in presence of concurrency (page 5 second column and page 7 first column). I've been trying to use my "google-fu" to find out how to implement and how this type of data structure works but I haven't had any luck. Could some enlighten me? Thanks a lot! [link] [comments] |

Is csrankings.org legit and sensible ? Posted: 31 Aug 2018 02:08 PM PDT Hi all, What do you guys think about csrankings.org ? Northeastern University, a relatively unknown school seems to be ranked top 20 and better than UCLA. On USNews Rankings, it's ranked low at 49. This makes me wonder, is it even a sensible/reliable ranking source ? [link] [comments] |
