What tool do you use to typeset Graphs/Digraphs in CS theory papers?

I've tried GraphViz, and while it's great for doing automatic layout and programatically-generated graphs, its output isn't the prettiest.

Does anyone have suggestions for professional looking tools to create graphs, digraphs, category-theory diagrams, etc.

    Any good geotagged datasets?

I'm currently developing a location-based application and I'm in need of geographical data, are there any good geotagged datasets available that you know of besides geotagged tweets?

Going to uni this year with no A-level maths, what mathematical concepts do you guys think I should get a grasp of before I go?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2018 06:32 AM PST

My A-level maths teacher convinced me into dropping Maths at A level, much to my regret. I am very passionate about computer science and am completely aware of the importance of Maths in this field.

Despite this, my teachers persuasiveness combined with my crushing imposter syndrome led to me thinking the best decision was to drop maths as it is not an absolute necessity when applying for some Comp Sci courses in the UK.

I am now very keen to establish a mathematical foundation before uni so that I am not at as much of a disadvantage when I begin my course. Are there any particular mathematical concepts that you guys think I should have a grasp of for a comp sci course?

The old we-don't-have-to-init-memory trick. Can you figure it out?
