Posted: 08 Dec 2017 10:59 AM PST I coach a FIRST Lego League team (4th-8th graders building robots with Lego). Last night, one of the programmers ( I think he's a 5th grader), decided that he wanted the robot to play music during tomorrow's competition. So, he programmed Jingle Bells and one of the other programmers placed it into a loop to run asynchronously with our main program. Towards the end of the meeting, we decide to do a practice run (2 minutes and 30 seconds long). At some point, things didn't go well and the robot got stuck. So I'm saying to them, what are you going to do? over and over....and they are thinking about changes to make to the robot or program instead of moving on the next mission, So, I said, "no, what are going to do right now (while the timer is going)." All while Jingle Bells is blaring annoyingly in a loop. Flustered, the programmer brings his hands to head and exclaims, "What was I thinking?!" Apparently, the music made it really hard to think while it was playing. [link] [comments] | ||
