Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:35 PM PDT Hi folks, I've had this idea recently by browsing through this subreddit and others. You guys often share some really cool bit of code you made for front-end development (animations, components, etc...). So I would like to create a website where everybody could share their creations and label it. Also everyone could review these posts and maybe even exchange about it in commentaries. You could browse all of this by categories (animations, components, navbar, header, footer, etc), or by most recents or best reviewed. So my questions are : - Does it look like a cool idea ? Would you like to use this ? - Do you know any website that already does this ? - Would anyone with better understanding of front-end than me (I'm mostly a back-end dev) like to help me with this ? Not coding it, but giving me advice about what could be useful features to make in this context ? [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Jul 2021 02:05 PM PDT It feels that using a frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, etc) for a personal website is a bit overkill if it's mostly a demo of your projects (which themselves might be made in React, etc) and resume-type info. Maybe using vanilla vanilla HTML/CSS/JS would be better practice for showing that I know the core concepts, especially since there likely won't be that much JS if at all? Are there any benefits to still using a framework anyways? Do prospective employers prefer to see it even when it's overkill? [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Jul 2021 09:43 AM PDT Hi, I started learning JavaScript a couple of months ago, and today I published my first browser extension for Mozilla Firefox. (Microsoft Edge edition will be out soon) Clear lets you unsubscribe from unwanted/spam emails by just pressing 'D' on your keyboard. You don't have to search for Unsubscribe links in the emails or answer the pop-ups. With just one click you will be unsubscribed. It is a simple extension, and I made it because I wanted to evade the tedious task of searching for unsubscribe links and then answering the pop-ups every time. As you get used to Clear, you'll automatically press 'D' whenever you want to unsubscribe and this saves you a lot of time. I hope you will like it! Your feedback/review/criticism is most welcome. Privacy: Clear DOESN'T send your data anywhere. It doesn't store any data at all, even in the local machine. [link] [comments] |
