Posted: 14 Apr 2021 06:57 AM PDT Can anyone suggest resources or a roadmap to get started with cryptography, network security and ethical hacking? If this is not the right place to ask, please suggest where I should post this. [link] [comments] |
Is the Professional Certificate in Data Science by EDX or IBM worth it? Posted: 14 Apr 2021 10:13 PM PDT I am contemplating taking these as an introduction to get started with certificates for a data science career. But I am torn between these or possibly just taking the certificates on Microsoft (azure etc). Any advice appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Resources, Networking & Community Post Posted: 14 Apr 2021 07:01 AM PDT -TLDR- 1. Post your desired job, (if it's the one you have that is fine) 2. Post the resources you have been using to prepare yourself, teach yourself about the field, or where you go to college 3. Tell everyone what you are passionate about, or what drives you towards this goal. Hi everybody I am currently enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University online for Computer Science I am posting today for fun, and out of curiosity to assess wether or not other students, or those in the field, or those in similar/other fields went out of their way to teach themselves outside of college about their passion, what their hobbies were, wether or not they got certifications, etc. Currently what I am realizing is that for my field there is a massive learning curve due to how much their is to cover. It would make me feel a lot better to hear about other peoples experiences, get to know other people to talk with about what I am working on, now and possibly in the future. I'm currently working on a ton of different certifications on Coursera, and am particularly interested in Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. My goal currently is to become some type of engineer or architect one day. I would love to start building more programs and commit more time to projects in the future when I feel like I have learned enough, and done enough of the guided projects in my certifications What about you? How necessary is a Masters for management and overseas job opportunities in this field? Posted: 14 Apr 2021 09:43 AM PDT I have decided not to get a masters degree directly after undergrad and try to get some experience, as I have not had any luck landing an internship. I am a year away from graduating with a BBA in computer information systems. I'm interested in backend/data engineering. I worry about not being able to get senior or managerial roles in the future since I will only have a bachelors degree, and the desirable positions will go to those with masters degrees. I also want to experience working in Europe and Asia in the future, and I don't know if a bachelors will give me a lot of opportunities. I would like some advice, as I know I am at a disadvantage amongst those with a BS in computer science. Thank you. [link] [comments] |
