Question: Which method is used in computers nowadays to transfer data from disk to RAM?

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 06:36 AM PST

Hi, I was reading about DMA (and UDMA) as a method that improves performance on data transfer and frees the CPU on that work. But I've also found that mostly the CPU is faster than de DMA Controller, and now I'm kinda confused. So, I have three questions:

Which method is used in computers nowadays to transfer data from disk to RAM? Why? And if is not the DMA, why not use it?
