    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 06:32 AM PDT

Hello friends! I was wondering if anyone could share their experience building an OS for smartphones, and any advice (books to read, tutorial videos, forums, etc) you could give me before I engage in this activity. Also what do I need in terms of hardware, I have a 2 android phones collecting dust (Samsung Galaxy 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3).

Book recommendation to learn about operating systems. Readability is important. Want to read it like a novel.

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 11:02 PM PDT

I'm mostly self taught and finished calc I/II, linear algebra, stats, networking, x86 assembly, DS&A (the entire spectrum).

I like reading every night before i go to bed without the computer on, so if theres a recommendation for readability, would love to hear your suggestions.

I've seen http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~remzi/OSTEP/ being recommended. Just wanted to see if there was something else. Otherwise I may go ahead and knock this one out. Thanks!

He goes over many problems and concepts in theory that I've had struggled with these past few weeks, and his explanations are far better than my instructor or anyone else on YouTube. I wanted to share in case others are having similar issues.
