Looking for feedback on pointcloud art test Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:45 AM PST Hey, I'm working on a game that takes inspiration from FTL. The ships are 3D and I've implemented a cutaway view, where the interiors are rendered above everything else. Setting it up was super easy but the results are a tiny bit lacking. Then I thought I could do something similar to the pointcloud effects in WATCH_DOGS, as if the view on the enemy ship is a composite of long range scans and hacked CCTV. I've got halfway and kinda lost sight of where I was heading. Does anyone have any ideas and which do you think is more promising? Steam question - Can developers intervene and approve of refunds? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:08 AM PST Title. I spent 2 hours looking for solutions online. Refunded the game, and then bought the game again after contacting support, because they had "solutions" and spent another 2 hours trying to fix it, only to for it to not work. I asked the developers if they can approve the refund, but they said they can't. This is Bandai Namco, btw. The problem was the controller wasn't working, despite it saying "full controller support" and the controllers in general were bugging out making it difficult to play in the first place. And yes, I'm an idiot. [link] [comments]

I have created a puzzle game. It is a single project, worked on it for 2 years. Android only Posted: 30 Dec 2019 03:16 AM PST Hello there, About me and the game I am a software developer in the finance industry and I am doing game development in my free time. In the last 2 years I tried to finish a mobile game done in Unity. The genre is Puzzle/Logic game. I believe the game itself has a uninque style and it is different to the other puzzle games. In fact this is my first project in game dev, I worked on it really hard to publish it. I did the coding the graphics and the sound effects. A friend of mine helped me with the menu music. I am looking forward to improve the quality of the game with updates but first I would like to show to others.. The game avaliable for Android only, it is listed as "Heights Puzzle: Sequence" Demo Video: I hope you find the game interesting. Cheers. :) [link] [comments]

r/GameDev's New Year's Resolutions!! (The 2020 Edition.) Posted: 30 Dec 2019 11:46 AM PST For ages now at /r/gamedev, right before the start of every calendar year, we've asked what people's New Year's Resolutions for the coming year are! (I remember posting this one back in 2014 and reading what I personally wrote back then, I can see a direct line to what enabled me to go full-time as an indie dev 18 months later). Here we are again! New Year's Resolutions are a bit silly/arbitrary, but thinking out-loud about our gamedev goals for 2020 can be helpful to clarify what we want to accomplish over the next twelve months. So! Here are two questions for you all: 1. What goals did you accomplish in 2019? (What are you most proud of? And which goals got away from you despite your best efforts?) 2. What Gamedev New Year's Resolutions do you want to accomplish in 2020? Perhaps you want to finally finish your first game? Perhaps you want to sell your first copy of a game? Maybe you want to learn an exciting new tech? Whether it's something business-y or technical or creatively satisfying, let us hear it. (And then we'll see how we all did a year from now.)
