    Hi /r/compsci!

Every year I bookmark many websites, tutorials and articles on mostly programming, math, technology and computer science. I go through them all in the end of the year and curate the best, unique and interesting stuff to make a list for myself (and discard the others).

I hope some will benefit you, ignite your interests further in computer science or find something interesting to read and learn. Enough talk, let's get to the meat!

Mods, in case this violates any guidelines please remove it and if possible tell me the best subreddit to post.

Would formal ontology help students with UML and ERDs?

I am reading some stuff about formal ontologies for fun and it seems that it generalizes modelling in a way that is kind of useful. At the very least usable. So I am wondering why no prof has ever mentioned it at all?

    Java or Swift?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2019 09:10 PM PST

after learning python and js im thinking about moving onto swift seeing that i have a more than compatible macbook and have had nothing but apple products my entire life.

however, would it be worth it to learn swift if java is what most employers are seeking now-a-days?

im also use java in most of my course-work for college and will use it even more for the remainder of two years, so would learning swift instead of getting better at java not be practical in my case?

    Merry Christmas pals,

For my resolution this new year, i want to push my limits and knowledge when it comes to computer architecture, programming, graphics APIs and programming. Any resources online to get me started? Possibly someone building an engine so I can follow him/her. I found a great site that teaches opengl that will compliment what i am going to do.
