Which schools/colleges still teach Structure and Interpretation of Computer Science (SICP)? Posted: 25 Nov 2019 06:09 PM PST SICP is a book with only 5 chapters and each chapter teach you about distinct yet profound ideas about CS. It gives you an overview of CS if taught as an introductory course. But almost all universities stopped teaching it. Is there still any school out there which teaches this masterpiece? https://mitpress.mit.edu/sites/default/files/sicp/index.html [link] [comments] |
BA and BS in computer science. What’s the difference? Posted: 26 Nov 2019 03:00 AM PST Hey guys, so I'm applying to college this year and I would love to study computer science. One of the colleges I'm applying to (UC Berkeley) offers both BA and BS in computer science. I would have chosen to go with the one in the school of engineering, but it is petty competitive. And for most engineering schools, SAT subject tests are recommended. Unfortunately, my subject test scores are not good enough, and so I will not be sending them. However, the college of letters and sciences do not require any subject tests, so I think I would have a much better chance getting accepted choosing the BA. What are your thoughts? Is there a difference between the two in terms of job opportunities, pay, etc. ? [link] [comments] |

How does image saving work in DBs? Posted: 25 Nov 2019 09:43 AM PST Hi everybody! As title says, I do wonder how image saving works in DB. I suppose I should save them as binary file, but how can I do so without losing much in quality? What are the best algorithms for such task? [link] [comments] |
