Hangout Community for Developers Posted: 13 Jun 2019 01:36 PM PDT Developers are different. Therefore, we have started a community especially for developers! We play pokemon, discuss all topics, host events, and the like. Feel welcome! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jun 2019 10:09 AM PDT Hi I'm a cs student new to here! Just wrote an article on how to scrape down data from fashion stores in python. https://medium.com/@taying.cheng/85740c5e0d06 Hope you guys can have a look and perhaps use it one sth u like too. :) [link] [comments] |

How can I prove that an Array is an Abstract Data Type (ADT)? Posted: 13 Jun 2019 09:09 AM PDT I had a question in an exam asking which ADT would be a better choice for an application which needed to keep track of elements from a maximum of 20 undo operations, and access any of those 20 un-done elements directly. I answered array (dynamic array, if we need to undo more than 20) but the instructor countered that an array is not an ADT. But it seems to me after researching for a bit, that the distinction is ambiguous (whether an array is purely an ADT or not). https://www.dre.vanderbilt.edu/~schmidt/PDF/array1.pdf http://web.mit.edu/6.005/www/fa16/classes/11-abstract-data-types/ https://computersciencewiki.org/index.php/Abstract_data_structures https://www.quora.com/Is-an-Array-an-abstract-data-type https://brilliant.org/wiki/arrays-adt/ So long story short, after some back and forth, the instructor asked me to show a valid reference (like a DS textbook or a standard CS book) to prove that an array(dynamic) is an ADT. Can someone point me to a helpful reference? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

How do you guys have the IQ to do CS / Programming? Posted: 13 Jun 2019 07:54 AM PDT I'm not sure how I'm supposed to study this stuff, and how much is expected I'm able to do by myself (ie without looking at solutions). I'm also not sure about the correct study approach. So I'm assuming that you learn / read about a programming concepts, ie for-loops and while-loops, and then you maybe read a couple examples, and then you try to "extend" this example to other problems and apply it in different situations? Also, maybe I'm wrong here, but I feel like reading many examples is like cheating... Despite all of this I also just feel like it's too hard. If any of you guys are still going to school or recall some of the courses, it just feels like the assignments are too hard (especially in Europe, idk about the US). You literally just get assigned IQ problems that are too hard without a solution manual. [link] [comments] |
