What's are some interesting unsolved problems? Posted: 27 Apr 2018 02:47 PM PDT Unsolved in a general sense. Having something exist but be too slow is fine :) Just curious about the interesting things others think about or work on that myself or others maybe haven't been exposed to. These kind of cool problems are why I enjoy compsci so much, so I'd think there would be a lot of other cool ideas with nothing really there yet! If you could leave a concept and any writing on it / progress you've found or what your thoughts are it'd be great! I'll try to list a few fun ones (and if these have more progress than I think they do, it might just be because I don't know!):

Not sure how i'm getting this Hamming Question Wrong. Posted: 28 Apr 2018 03:49 AM PDT Recently went though hamming in my previous lecture, I thought I understood it and went home to have a practice and look some questions up online but I don't understand how i'm getting the wrong answer. The question is "Create an 8 bit hamming code word for the value 0xD using even parity. Show your answer in hexadecimal." Answer is suppose to be "0x AA" https://i.imgur.com/7J3nuDf.jpg Attached are my workings, any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers [link] [comments] |
