Quickest way to get a functional CRUD frontend for an API Posted: 26 Apr 2018 02:50 AM PDT Hello I have an rather simple API that has GETs PUTs DELETEs and POSTs. I need a simple web front end for this API and I wondered what people would recommend? I don't need it to be pretty, just functional. I tried to use React but I think it is overkill for what I want to do and I got fed up of the huge ecosystem or yarn, npm, webpack, babel, scss and all that to create a simple web site. Is there a framework that is more suitable for rather basic API based admin systems or should I just create some pages with Bootstrap? I thought this would be easier than it turned out to be and I need some guidance. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Problems with Plesk website/domain. Posted: 26 Apr 2018 02:40 PM PDT I'm attempting to point an account in Plesk to an IP where we've made a website for a client. I'm not familiar with Plesk, but have made the changes I thought would accomplish what I need. Unfortunately I'm unable to load the website after making said changes. Here are the DNS settings - https://imgur.com/Q7WtunW And here are some other settings - https://imgur.com/P5Zm1AI The website itself is http://contourengineering.com Am I missing something obvious? I'm simply getting Server Not Found after updating the DNS A record(s). I haven't touched the nameservers since I don't want to break their emails. The website I'm pointing the records at is hosted in cPanel. I've done this several times in the past with places like GoDaddy, but this is a bit different. [link] [comments]

Payment method for a system based around royalties from third party plugins Posted: 26 Apr 2018 01:00 PM PDT Hello all, Not sure if I should post this here or on some finance sub but I'm a developer and would like some like minded developer advice on what approach they would use / some tips on how to implement it. this is all out of my head as I write this so I have not implemented anything (or even started the project) yet I'm toying with the idea for a system that would make use of in-house/third party plugins. The system would be monetised this way so that plugins may be chargeable (subscription/one off payment etc.) or simply free. All the plugins would be hosted in a curated repository built and managed by us. So the developer would have to submit their plugin along with how they intend their plugin to be downloaded. So of course the developer would have the usual card details for payments etc. The bit I am confused about implementing is this: Does the end user pay the money to us (i.e. the total cost of the plugins they are using) and then we take a 5% cut and give the developer of the plugin 95%) Or does it work the other way around? i.e. the end user pays each developer of all the plugins they have downloaded and we expect each developer to pay us 5% every payment? The first method seems safer/easier to manage to me but I don't know how that would work with taxes etc. It looks like we would have a lot of money coming to us but in reality it's only 5% of the payment and the 95% goes straight out the door. That's probably a question for a finance sub though (if anyone knows, feel free to give a tip!). My brain-stormy idea using approach 1:
Really, I am looking for advice from someone who has experience setting up these kind of systems. How did they go about implementing such a thing? Processing payments etc. [link] [comments]

Trying to improve latency on a Wordpress site. Posted: 26 Apr 2018 02:11 PM PDT Have a website that is primarily image heavy and was looking for some plugins that would reduce latency. I did a "testmysite" on google but it looks like I've been ghosted for a bit. This is what I get back from google. As a developer I do know what they're talking about, just no idea where to find any of it to affect the changes. [link] [comments]

GDPR - how to enable or disable third party cookies with user's consent? Posted: 26 Apr 2018 04:52 AM PDT Specifically, what's the best way to make a website GDPR cookie compliant if it delivers 3rd party cookies from a Twitter feed, Youtube videos or a Google Map? Is the answer to just block the content entirely until the visitor clicks "Yes" on a cookie consent ribbon? I've got a client whose website has an online booking system which is an iframe onto a 3rd party booking site. Two of its cookies don't require consent... but then there's a Google Analytics cookie. So you can imagine how much my client is gonna love my solution to block the booking form until the user gives consent to be tracked! [link] [comments]
