How to enable reddit "play" button for a website? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 07:01 AM PDT Hi, I run neatclip.com, a website for creating highlight videos of livestreams. Recently there have been a lot of users asking why videos from other sites feature a small play button that allows them to play the video directly on reddit, while mine does not. Example: https://i.imgur.com/708Jl1C.png Does anyone know how I can add this to my site? Do I need to present some specific information to the reddit scraper? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Best way to create this kind of a website ? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 04:53 AM PDT I want to create this kind of a website https://www.dreamjobs.lk/ where you can find teachers (list the teachers according to subjects and etc). I'd like your recommendations on how to build a website like this. I myself an undergraduate who has a good knowledge on JS. I'm thinking about building this with React + Node + MongoDB. But I think it'll take some time. And I've heard that Wordpress is good and easier for this kind of stuff. But I have no knowledge on it. So I'd like to hear your recommendation. Should I build this with the stack I like and I'm interested in (MERN) or should I learn and build this with Wordpress ? What is the easiest way ? (Considering developing + Hosting + Maintenance (updating the content and changes ) Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Mar 2018 11:32 AM PDT Some quick background info - I created, nurtured and then left a division of a traditional marketing agency after 14 years where we grew into an "anything digital" type of service. We were running email campaigns, managing social campaigns, building websites and everything in-between. Along this time I grew passionate about the more technical aspects involved with building, managing and growing applications. I also became less passionate about the social marketing, search marketing sides of the business partially due to the fact that overnight there were dozens (if not hundreds) of "Digital Agencies" in my area doing "Social Media" and "SEO" combined with the entire industry having it's own unique issues. About a year ago I decided to leave the company I worked for and just focus on building web apps and improving my skills and abilities. Business has been great since then but it's really just myself creating a job working on a hand-full of projects at any given time which pays the bills and has kept the phone ringing. What I'm getting at - is that I realize that the only way to make things bigger and better is to scale and grow the business but I really don't want to dilute our offering by being that "one-size-fits-all" agency and focus specifically on the core competencies such as front-end/back-end development, architecture, consulting and other technical services. Is the overall market right for a shop that focuses on the nuts and bolts of development or are these service providers the exception to the rule? The identity problems comes from when I describe to people what we do - they frequently come back asking for a lot of the things we're trying to stay away from and ultimately end up at a shop that does a sub-par job on all of the above rather than killing it in a specific segment of the marketing mix. Would love any insight that anyone can bring. [link] [comments]
Convert address/geocode to name of township, web development/JS survey address question help Posted: 25 Mar 2018 01:28 PM PDT crossposted this in r/gis This isn't exactly a question around GIS, but it is not clear to me which subreddit I should be asking this, so here goes. I am just a team of one trying to do this, so I apologize. Overall, I am trying to put together a broadband survey for the folks in my county using LimeSurvey to identify where the gaps are in our county, which eventually will lead to a suggestion of community broadband for my county. To get there, I need gather the data and then share this data with the planning and elected officials to show where the gaps are in broadband service. As part of this survey, I am asking what their address is. All of the surveys I have found have this question in a free form, as in, folks are free to make mistakes as they fill out their address, make typos and such. This is such a terrible way to do it when we have things like Google Maps or USPS or whatever to correct the data as it's typed out. So, my plan is to use JS Google Maps API in the address question to have it autocomplete the address as the responder types their address. The idea is to have the address normalized and google maps will do that with their API. Once the address is autocompleted, I'd like to have the address separated out into it's respective fields, but also have a secondary script take the address/geocode info and have it translate into what township, like township and range and actual township name, that particular address is in. The idea is automate this address problem, so that down the road I have less clean up work to do with my data, but also it increases the accuracy of my survey. I did a bit of searching, but I am not coming across what I need to give to my web/JS developer to work with to solve this problem. Doesn't seem like there is some JS APi that can do this, but I don't work with this kind of stuff. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance. Side note: I am looking for someone to help me do this (free, non-profit and all), but that isn't really the point of this post. If anyone is interested in tackling this, I'd be glad to put your name up on the 'community partners' page for your help. [link] [comments]
Is junior developer jobs dead or still lucrative? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 11:13 AM PDT Hello, currently studying to be a front end web developer and would like to ask a question regarding applying for junior web developer. I'm mostly trying to apply for jobs in New Jersey and New York area, what do you think? [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Mar 2018 02:45 PM PDT Currently our strategy is the following: Dev => QA => CAT => Prod People make feature branches off dev. Dev gets merged to QA reguarly. CAT is used from demos and Client Acceptance Testing. Prod is what is shipped to the client. Each branch (except Prod) has an AWS env associated with it. We may need to work on the next minor release AND get a jump start on the next major release. What we are currently doing is making a long running feature branch off of Dev. Is there a better way? Most GitFlow stuff seems to revolve around CI and not so much releases to a client. [link] [comments]
How do you add text to / out putting a PDF? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 02:39 PM PDT I've been trying to give users the option to print out a copy of their information in a form instead of the interface they are entering it in, but all of the libraries I've tried keep giving me really bad results. What do you guys use to do this? [link] [comments]

Is it "necessary" to move to a cloud platform as Heroku? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 10:35 AM PDT I was just wondering, i was attending a local coding-meetup and i saw how powerful cloud platforms can be for managing your apps. Is this really where the future is going, or is it just a thing that is "new on the block"? [link] [comments]

Load layered videos or gifs in perfect sync? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 05:33 AM PDT Hi guys, I'm hoping to have multiple videos or gifs/webms (small kb size) on my webpage of a man walk cycle. I need them to be in perfect sync as it will be an animated loop so they must start and loop at the same time. Is there any way to do this in css/java/html or anything? [link] [comments]
How would I go about adding this program under a board on a forum site? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 12:50 PM PDT I want a board where people can draw and share as part of the community, and this is free to use but does not explain how. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Creating a "tenancy between two users" Posted: 25 Mar 2018 12:37 PM PDT I'm creating a property app and I need to let users start a "tenancy with eachother". I have two types of users in one database. One as a landlord, and one as a tenant. I want the landlord to go to the tenants profile, click create, open a form and then the landlord picks one of his assoicated properties. The tenant can can accept/reject this. I took a friend system, and changed it to tennacy and of course that worked. But when I tried to add a property to the table I ran into all sorts of issue. I don't think it's written well as I didn't even get responses here. So whats the best way to go about this. I have user profiles, landlords can upload properties ect. But I need a specific property assoicated with the tenancny. Here is a scalled down property table. Here is the tenancy table [link] [comments]
How do I create a cursor interactive object? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 12:28 PM PDT Hey, I am currently making a website and I have pretty much no experience with coding. I am looking to incorporate an interactive element, which is a object that will follow the cursor. Here is an example: http://magic-magic.net/ Would anyone be able to direct me to a tutorial or tutorials that will show me how to make this? [link] [comments]
