What I deal with when I get to my parents for the weekend Posted: 05 Jan 2018 06:16 AM PST I'm home for the weekend at my parents house and I'm sitting in the living room with my laptop working on a database when I accidentally dropped a table which I didn't need to (the table that should be dropped survived that). So of course I started cursing and asked my mom to get me another coffee. We at home drink coffee regularly and when we do we usually sit together for about 10 minutes and catch up on what everybody is doing. Therefor I had to quit what I was doing and leave it or later. My father told us about the work he had done. My mom told us about the recipes she found that morning. Then it was my turn. I told them that the project was going well but that I just deleted part of a database which I should not have and that I was just working on fixing that problem. I don't know what went trough my mothers mind but she suddenly became frustrated and started yelling at me: "So is this why we send you to university, no wonder you can't find a real job!", Mind you my mother knows shit about computers. I ask her what the hell is going on and why she was acting so weird. My mom literally replied with: "I just find it weird that they have taught you all this programming stuff, but they didn't taught you that you can just undo an action with ctrl-z". At that point I lost it... [link] [comments] | ||
