Posted: 22 Oct 2020 10:20 AM PDT I was studying C# and .NET and was thinking wich language stack games like The Wicher 3 or TLOU uses? I know those companies usually build their own engines and that the engine does "stuff" but what is it that it does and how that work? Just curiousity :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Oct 2020 10:27 AM PDT So I am working on a game for 7 years. When II started the developement I was pretty much learning all the stuff and now i know how to do stuff properly. I really want to finish the game, because i spent a lot of time working on it and I want to move onto next project that i started. The problem is the game is a giant code mess.Weird codelines, bad code management you know it. developmentI cant decide if I should start it from the scratch and import only stuff that was 100% working and redo the rest,or fix the broken stuff. Both would take a lot of time but what is more of a better option. [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Oct 2020 11:47 AM PDT My music portfolio: https://soundcloud.com/hiwes/sets/my-best-music-and-my-portfolio Email: Niko433aclo@gmail.com I will make you a Theme song for your Video Game or anything else that you need music for. Be specific about what kind of style the music needs to be: Rock, Synth, Chill, happy, sad, or whatever you want it to be. The right music can make an emotional moment that much more emotional, a tense moment that much more tense. I can assure you that I will be able to create a custom sound for any type of game you are making. Whether you're looking for Epic Orchestral pieces or subtle Electronic Soundscapes. Being into gaming myself, I understand that video game music can be a deal-breaker for most purchases of a game. [link] [comments]
What are the Most Important Unity Learn Courses Posted: 22 Oct 2020 11:46 AM PDT I have been trying to learn Unity for about a month and I have been overwhelmed by the amount of tutorials. So far I am doing the Unity Basics course and finished Using the Unity Interface and the 2D game kit. I mostly just want to start making my own games as soon as possible, so which if any of the Unity Learn courses should I complete? [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Oct 2020 11:21 AM PDT Hi! I'm doing a survey for my business course at university, and I've chosen to look at cultural divergence among independent game developers. What this means is, I want to know how game developers - preferably based outside the Anglo-American sphere, but this isn't a requirement - are informed by their national culture, and if there's a correlation between them and others from the same culture, or if they correlate more with those of other cultures instead. The survey I'm running will ask you what you feel are your key priorities in both playing games and developing them for commercial use, and then how you perceive their current nation of residence would answer the same questions. I won't accept responses from anyone under 18, because respondents must provide informed consent in order to allow their responses to be used in the study; respondents are kept anonymous and are not expected to provide any information that could identify them specifically, and the study will only use responses gotten from the survey and nothing else - so nothing else in this thread that could be traced will be taken into account. Link to the survey is here: https://forms.gle/J8eDuX8Bu5hyysGf8 . Thanks for reading! [link] [comments]

Is it true that professional game studios stick to dual 16:10 monitor setups? Posted: 22 Oct 2020 04:15 AM PDT I am a student game artist looking into what monitor setup would be best for me. It would be used with an intuos pro. I am considering dual 24" 16:10 monitors as I have mainly seen these in actual companies although I can only find very limited footage of the inside of game studios. Is it true that in general artists at the big studios virtually all stick to 2 of these WUXGA 1920x1200 monitors compared to something like dual 4k 16:9 monitors or one large or ultrawide monitor? What are the main reasons for this? I am thinking particularly for concept art, sculpting and modelling here. Many thanks. [link] [comments] |
